I’m pleased to announce that Crest Marine Services is now an officially approved Sentinel Installer.
Following the successful completion of Sentinel’s installer training programme and assessment, Crest Marine is now authorised to supply and install Sentinel’s range of advanced boat monitoring and connectivity solutions throughout Cornwall and the South West.
What is Sentinel?
Sentinel is one of the leading names in marine remote monitoring technology, helping boat owners stay connected to their vessels wherever they are.
Using a dedicated onboard monitoring unit and smartphone app, Sentinel allows owners to keep an eye on their vessel remotely, providing valuable information about the condition and status of onboard systems.
Depending on the installation and vessel requirements, Sentinel systems can provide:
- Real-time battery monitoring
- Bilge and water ingress alerts
- GPS vessel tracking and geofencing
- Security and intrusion alerts
- NMEA 2000 system integration
- Monitoring of key onboard equipment
- Historical vessel data and usage information
- Remote control functions for compatible systems
Whether your boat is in a marina, on a mooring, or laid up ashore, Sentinel provides peace of mind by keeping you informed of important events as they happen.
Why Remote Monitoring Matters
Many vessel owners only discover a problem when they arrive at the boat. Flat batteries, charging system faults, floods, shore power failures, or security concerns can develop unnoticed for days or even weeks.
Remote monitoring allows these issues to be identified early, helping owners take action before minor problems become expensive repairs.
For vessels that spend long periods unattended, having visibility of critical onboard systems can be invaluable.
Professional Installation
As a Sentinel Approved Installer, Crest Marine Services can advise on the most suitable Sentinel solution for your vessel, carry out professional installation, integrate the system with existing onboard equipment, and ensure it is configured correctly for reliable operation.
With a background in marine electrical fault finding, system design, installation and maintenance, we can also help identify additional monitoring opportunities that may benefit your vessel.
Looking Ahead
Marine technology continues to evolve, and connected vessel systems are becoming increasingly popular with boat owners who want greater visibility, security and confidence when away from their boats.
I’m excited to add Sentinel’s innovative monitoring solutions to the range of services offered by Crest Marine Services and look forward to helping more boat owners benefit from smarter, connected boating.
